This beautiful malachite tower has hints of blue through it from inclusions of Chrysocolla. These minerals, plus a few others, are formed through the weathering and oxidation of primary copper sulfide minerals such as chalcopyrite. As a result, they are often found in close proximity to each other in copper-rich environments.
